Frequently asked questions
We meet every Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The first, third, and fifth Wednesdays of each month are in person in Timonium, Maryland. The second and fourth Wednesdays are virtual on Zoom. Meetings begin promptly at 11:30.
Because our members run businesses. The hybrid rhythm gives people scheduling flexibility during a busy month while still guaranteeing regular face to face time, which is where trust actually gets built.
Each week every member speaks for about a minute on one of the following: an ideal referral they are looking for, a recent success, something happening in their industry or business, or a challenge they would like the group to help solve. We then hear from a featured speaker who gives an engaging ten to fifteen minute presentation expanding on one of those topics. We also review group metrics and financials so every member and visitor has a clear picture of how the group is performing.
Yes, and it is easier than it sounds. Every member takes a turn each week with a short 60-second update, and the featured speaker slot (10 minutes) rotates among members. Most people find that the weekly minute is the single most useful habit they build here, because it forces you to get specific about the referrals you actually want.
Yes. Consistency is what makes the referral network work, so we expect members to attend regularly, either in person or virtually depending on the week. If you must miss a meeting, you may send a qualified substitute to represent your business. Repeated unexcused absences are reviewed by our Membership Director, since an empty seat does not generate or receive referrals for anyone. If you know you will be away for an extended period, you can request a leave of absence of up to 3 months in writing.
We suggest you bring business cards with you to each meeting. Our Secretary maintains a library of business cards and will distribute member business cards to each visitor. You may choose to bring food. You can also bring literature on your business to distribute or props for your 60-second or Featured Speaker slot. Most important, we ask that you bring a service mindset – "What can I do for my fellow members?" – because that's how the group thrives.
Membership is $300 per year. That is a deliberate decision, not a promotional rate. We built RXN as an alternative to higher-priced groups because we believed the value should come from the members and the referrals, not from a large dues bill.
RXN has no application fee. The $300 annual membership fee is your only membership cost. If you choose to bring lunch for an in-person you are welcome to do so. We also hold networking events or happy hours where food may be provided but your drinks would be an extra cost. Other optional activities may include a cost to participate. Finally, we generally have an annual holiday party in December, at which food is provided but drinks are an extra cost.
Our average member in 2025 achieved more than 70X return on the annual membership investment. We are candid that results follow effort: members who attend consistently, learn the room, give referrals, and build trust are the ones who close the most business.
We review group financials and group metrics at every meeting, in front of members and visitors alike. What gets measured gets done, and we would rather everyone see the numbers than take our word for it.
Your renewal billing will be sent on the first of the month after 11 full months of membership, and is due by the end of that month. For example, if you were to join in mid-August, your invoice would be sent the following August 1st, and payment would be due by August 31st. We do not pro-rate dues based on calendar date.
Because we keep RXN dues low, the membership fee is non-refundable, but membership can be discontinued at any time. If a leave of absence is necessary and requested in writing, we may accommodate requests for up to 3 months. Beyond 3 months, your seat will be considered open and may be filled by a new member in your industry. If unfilled by a new member, you may reclaim your seat within the current membership year and use the remainder of your year, but your renewal date will not be reset.
No. We allow only one member per industry and role. That exclusivity is the point: it means referrals in your category have one obvious home. We may, however, have members in related industries who become collaborators with you. In real estate, for example, we might seat a residential agent and a commercial agent, provided each speaks only to their own specialty, plus a lender and a title company. In home services we might seat an electrician, a plumber, and a general contractor, where the general contractor does not present on electrical or plumbing work but is free to hire the electrician or plumber for a job.
Narrowly enough to protect the seat you hold. Categories are defined by the work a member actually presents and asks for, not by a broad industry label. When two applicants sit close to one another, we look at whether their day to day work overlaps and whether either one would find themselves competing for the same referral in the room.
You are still welcome to visit, and we encourage it. Categories do open up, and knowing you ahead of time means we can move quickly when one does. We're happy to maintain a waiting list if your category is currently filled.
The fastest way to check is the member roster on our About page. If you do not see your industry listed, the seat is open, and we would like to meet you. And if you don't see your industry, sign up to visit and check us out. Remember, if you are responsible for generating revenue for your business, RXN is for you.
RXN is a local business networking group built on referrals and long-term relationships. We formed in 2023 out of a group of dedicated business professionals who had come from other networking groups that had become ineffective, too expensive, or both. We did not need more training on how to network. We wanted to meet consistently, build genuine trust, and create a referral network that expands everyone's reach. That is still exactly what we do. RXN: Building Better Business Together.
Chambers and social groups are open to anyone, which often means you are one of nine insurance agents in the same room. RXN limits membership to one company per industry, so when a referral comes up in your category, it comes to you. We are also independent and locally run, which keeps our dues low and keeps our meeting time focused on relationships and real referrals rather than packaged programming our members did not ask for.
Business owners, sales professionals, and independent practitioners in the Greater Baltimore area who can show up consistently, who are willing to learn other members' businesses well enough to refer them confidently, and who want to build relationships over time rather than collect business cards. If you are responsible for revenue generation, RXN is for you.
Our in person meetings are held in Timonium, Maryland, and our members work throughout the greater Baltimore region.
Our current roster is published on the About page, along with each member's industry and contact information. We are always looking to add members from industries that are not yet represented.
